What is the difference between offline, line-interactive, and online double-conversion UPS?
An offline UPS switches to battery only when power fails, with a brief transfer time. A line-interactive UPS continuously regulates voltage and switches to battery faster than offline, making it suitable for environments with frequent fluctuations.
A double-conversion online UPS — like the APC Smart-UPS SRT — always runs equipment off the battery inverter, meaning there is zero transfer time and the connected equipment is fully isolated from the mains supply. For mission-critical equipment, double-conversion is the correct choice.
Which APC UPS series is most suitable for Pakistan's power environment?
For small offices and home setups, the APC Easy-UPS or Back-UPS series handles the job well. For businesses running servers, switches, or networking equipment, the APC Smart-UPS series is the reliable standard.
